The classic burgundy Wax Play candle combines heat sensations with a deep, sensual colour. Its rich burgundy shade evokes dark wine, ripe cherries and velvet, creating expressive drops, lines and layered wax compositions on the skin.
The candle has been developed specifically for temperature-based BDSM play and Wax Play. Its melting range is 50–55°C, while the paraffin and soy wax formula provides even melting and a flexible texture after cooling.
Burgundy wax looks especially striking in warm, subdued lighting. Depending on the light, it may appear wine-red, cherry or deep burgundy. The candle is suitable for sensual Wax Play sessions, themed photoshoots, role-play scenarios and creating expressive wax designs on the body.
What does burgundy wax look like on the skin?
Melted wax has a rich cherry-burgundy colour. After cooling, the shade may become slightly lighter and more matte while retaining its deep burgundy tone.
Burgundy wax creates a vivid contrast against light skin and looks deep and saturated on darker skin tones. The colour works well for individual drops, fine lines, wider streams and layered compositions.
The burgundy cherry candle can be used on its own or combined with other colours. It looks especially striking alongside black, pink, violet, red or white wax.
Melting temperature and wax properties
The candle has a melting range of 50–55°C. The actual sensation on the skin depends on the application height, the size and number of drops, the selected area of the body and the person’s individual sensitivity to heat.
As the candle burns, liquid wax gradually collects around the wick before flowing down in separate drops. The blend of paraffin and soy wax helps the cooled layer remain flexible rather than becoming excessively brittle.
Once completely cooled, the wax can be gently removed from the skin in flexible pieces without prolonged rubbing.

How to use the Wax Play candle
Place the candle in a stable holder or hold it at an angle that prevents melted wax from running onto your hand. Light the wick and wait until a small pool of liquid wax forms around it.
Before beginning the main session, apply one test drop to a small area of skin. This will help you assess individual sensitivity and choose a comfortable application height.
Apply the first drops from a greater distance, then gradually adjust the height according to your partner’s response. The greater the distance between the candle and the body, the more time each drop has to cool as it falls.
Do not pour a large amount of wax onto one area at once. Repeatedly applying hot drops to the same spot can make the sensation considerably more intense.
After the session, wait until the wax has cooled completely. Gently lift one edge of the cooled layer and remove it from the skin in flexible pieces.

Which colours pair well with burgundy wax?
Burgundy wax can be used alone or combined with other shades:
- Black creates a dark and dramatic composition.
- Red produces a rich gradient from vivid red to deep burgundy.
- Pink creates a softer cherry-pink combination.
- Violet adds depth to a rich wine-inspired palette.
- Grey creates a strong contrast and graphic wax patterns.
- Gold or yellow adds warmth and a luxurious visual accent.
To keep the colours clean and their boundaries clearly defined, apply them to separate areas or allow the first layer to partially cool before adding the next shade.
What scenarios is the burgundy candle suitable for?
The classic burgundy candle can be used for:
- temperature-based BDSM play;
- sensual Wax Play sessions;
- romantic and themed scenarios;
- photoshoots with dark or gothic aesthetics;
- role-play;
- creating multicoloured wax compositions on the body;
- scenes with cherry, wine-red or red-and-black colour palettes.
The deep burgundy cherry colour creates a sensual and slightly dramatic atmosphere. It looks more refined and subdued than bright red while remaining expressive and highly visible on the skin.
Important safety recommendations
Do not apply wax to the face, mucous membranes, hair, nipples, genitals, broken skin, irritated skin, sunburnt skin or excessively sensitive areas. Avoid raised moles, fresh tattoos and piercings that have not fully healed.
Do not use the candle on anyone with reduced temperature sensitivity or who is unable to communicate discomfort immediately.
Before the session, discuss consent, personal boundaries and safewords, as well as the desired intensity of the experience.
Begin with a small amount of wax and monitor the skin’s response. If severe pain, persistent burning or any other unwanted reaction occurs, stop applying the wax.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from hair, fabrics, bondage ropes and other flammable materials. Always have a safe and accessible way to extinguish the flame nearby.
Frequently asked questions about the burgundy Wax Play candle
What is the melting temperature of the burgundy candle?
The melting range is 50–55°C. The intensity of the sensation also depends on the application height, the amount of wax, the selected area of the body and individual sensitivity.
How is burgundy different from red?
Burgundy is a deeper and darker shade of red. It contains wine-red and cherry tones that give the cooled wax a richer and more dramatic appearance.
Does the candle’s colour affect the wax temperature?
No. The burgundy or cherry shade determines the appearance of the wax but does not change its melting temperature. The intensity of the sensation depends on the formula, application height, amount of wax and individual skin sensitivity.
Can burgundy wax be combined with other colours?
Yes. Burgundy wax pairs well with black, red, pink, violet and white. These combinations can be used to create gradients, contrasting patterns and layered wax compositions.
How do I remove wax from the skin after Wax Play?
Wait until the wax has cooled completely. Then gently lift one edge of the cooled layer and remove it in small pieces. Do not attempt to wipe away wax while it is still hot or liquid.
